Our client, a zinc project mining company in North Sumatera, is currently looking for qualified candidates to fill the role of
EXPLORATION MANAGER
Role:
To develop and oversee a successful exploration program for the Contract of Work and the surrounding districts which results in the delivery of a Bankable Feasibility Study of base metal deposit and the rigorous evaluation of other mineral prospects and under-explored areas, to enable efficient and timely evaluation and ranking of the exploration potential of the entire Project. Close interfacing will be required with the mine geology team involved in the development of the flagship deposit.
Responsibilities:
- to formulate on an annual basis exploration work programs for the Project (in conjunction with the General Manager – Exploration) and to oversee the efficient implementation of the programs;
- to recruit, manage and train the project geologist and supporting field teams;
- to provide periodic exploration budgets and expenditure reports in a timely manner;
- to appoint and supervise drilling and other contractors for the efficient implementation of work programs;
- to implement and control QA/QC procedures and reporting;
- must be a “competent person” to report exploration results, as defined by the Australian JORC code or equivalent international standard (Canadian NI 43-101, South African SAMREC or European PERC)
- close liaison and exchange of ideas with the geology team of the underground zinc mine;
- to ensure that exploration activities are conducted in accordance with international performance standards in terms of environment, safety and health (ESH) and the social impact and employment conditions;
- to produce high quality quarterly and annual statutory reports and monthly in-house reports in a timely manner
Requairements:
- min 12 years of mineral exploration experience;
- extensive experience in mineral exploration and mining geology, especially zinc-lead mineralization;
- a demonstrable understanding of QAQC and ESH standards and procedures;
- expertise in modern exploration technologies and methodologies in wet tropical environments;
- a sound working knowledge of mining/exploration software and database systems;
- a demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development and maintenance of professional registration;
- at minimum, Bachelor level qualifications in Geology / Earth Sciences from a recognized university or college
